"What is Daichi Miura's idea of the essence of beauty?"
This time, we spoke with Daichi Miura, a multi-talented creator who is garnering attention as an art director and illustrator.

D [Daichi Miura] (Guest)
M [Mishu] (mfn Creative director)
Z [ZENGO] (mfn Brandmanager)
D
This is a sudden question, but is this section a page to introduce this beauty serum created by Ofune (Bifune)?
M
Yes, I started it with the hope that I could have many different people use it, get their feedback, and get a glimpse into each person's life and work.
People who have jobs are always doing things for others, but they don't do anything for themselves and just go about their lives ... so I thought it would be nice to have something that even busy people can use to take care of themselves ... and what's more, I think that " easy things " is what prompted me to start this brand. I also want more people to know about it.
M
Although I may look like this, I do a lot for other people, but when it comes to myself, I'm actually the ultimate lazy person.
D
But it's true that people who work to help others don't have much time to spend on themselves. When it comes to self-care, it tends to be low on the list of priorities.
M
That's right, there are many actresses and models who feel down when their skin is rough. Especially since my makeup is often natural and makes the most of my skin.
D
For Ofune (Bifune), it is considered a beauty serum, but do you think of it as part of your makeup rather than as base skin care?
M
Hmm, maybe you think skincare is just part of makeup.
Having beautiful skin makes me feel good.
D
It's true that the tension is completely different.
M
On the other hand, when my skin gets worse, I get depressed.
D
Even now, as I was talking, I was thinking ...
Foundation has a strong connotation of being a base, basic, or foundation , right?
After all, the foundation of a person's physical and mental health may be visualized through their skin.
That's why I often talk about "consciousness" or health or things like that, but as I'm talking now, I'm thinking that the point that can be visualized might be the skin .
Something about the texture of the skin, the roughness of the skin ... the color ...
It's something like that, and you can kind of see the person.
M
Yes, it looks amazing!
Makeup is originally meant to cover up and hide the roughness.
But I've always thought that mixed race girls are really cute without makeup. The redness in their skin and all that stuff is really attractive. I thought it was such a shame that they couldn't tell because of excessive makeup.
So when I do makeup, I think there is an element of wanting to " make the most of the person. " So I think there was also an element of trying to make it look like a foreigner or a half-Japanese person's skin, and to make it look like a Japanese person through makeup.
M
For example, I've been adding red eyeshadow to interesting places or intentionally adding redness to my images for about 15 years now.
Nowadays, people think that makeup is something that hides the base of your skin and face, but the original purpose of makeup is to bring out your base and natural state as a person, and to make you look like you have a good condition.
Rather than hiding it, I focus on bringing my base back to my original best state.
M
Of course, pretty girls are pretty ... youth and such can be an advantage, but...
I think that skin that is free of roughness and keeps looking youthful is also very beautiful. The way foundation adheres to the skin is different.
D
But even if your skin is simply rough and you get one pimple, there's always a reason for it to appear, and I don't think that a pimple appears there for no reason. There's always some influence that causes it to appear there.
So you can see that the condition of your skin is a barometer of your own health.
Actually, I have quite atopic dermatitis and it was always severe throughout my childhood and elementary and middle school years.
But even recently, I still get it every now and then. But I think it's definitely due to my physical condition or a change in my environment.
For example, excessive exposure to UV rays ... or being submerged in seawater and left there ...
It's easy to understand because it only appears when something is not normal.
I can immediately tell if my skin is starting to get rough or if a certain spot is starting to dry out.
Z
Is there anything you do regularly to achieve this, or any first aid methods you use?
D
In my case, I use whatever natural products are available at the time, and I do moisturize, but ultimately I only rely on those to a minimum, and then I don't touch it at all, I don't touch it at all.
So moisturizing is essential .
I think that when my skin gets rough, it's usually because it's dry.
It's not very common for skin to be moist and rough at the same time.
M
Yes. Isn't that right? That's it! It's important to increase your water intake.
D
I see.
M
The mfn all-in-one moist balancing serum aims to strengthen and activate the skin's natural "skin foundation." Plant stem cells help to nourish the skin foundation, while ostrich antibodies suppress the development of Staphylococcus aureus, which causes itching, making it less likely to itch.
The basic idea was to add more moisture, so we adopted a technology called the Time Release System.
Once applied to the skin, it normally dries out, but this product immediately hydrates the surface and then, over time, nutrients and moisture are absorbed into the skin.
D
I see, that's what it was 💡
M
That's right.
It can be used not only for people with atopic skin, but also for people with oily and dry skin, so it's something I would really recommend to everyone.
D
This is a simple question, but are there people who moisturize too much?
For example, there are a lot of people with dry skin and oily skin, right? Conversely, are there people who have too much moisture? lol
M
I don't think so, but I think the amount of water we have is fixed, so I think the idea is that excess water is excreted.
D
So no one has excessive humidity?
M
But there are Asians who have very moisturized skin. People with invisible pores. There are people with moisturized, bouncy skin.
M
And then of course the environment also plays a role; being in a humid place also has an influence.
It's often described as a photo that gives off a sense of humidity, but that's also a kind of atmosphere, and as long as it's moisturizing, isn't that a good thing?
D
So when my skin gets rough, I feel like it's getting dry and flaky, or it has a rough texture, and I don't think it's because it's not moisturized, but rather something is happening that's causing the skin to lose moisture.
If you add some moisture and support to that area, I don't think it will go in a bad direction.
But after that I decided not to touch it at all.
M
It's important not to touch it!
D
Yeah
M
I feel like not touching it is pretty extreme ...
It's much faster to not touch acne, right? If you don't touch it, it will heal faster because you're introducing bacteria into it and giving it more irritation ...
Basically, atopic dermatitis will heal naturally if you don't touch it. In the end, it's all about moisturizing it and not touching it.
That's the basic principle after all.
The human body's ability to heal itself and restore itself to normal is truly amazing. I think it's good to rely on it quite a bit.
Do n't put too much effort into it yourself ...
So it means " Don't do anything unnecessary! "
Excess of anything can make you go crazy, right?
So there's simple skin care
For some people, it's better not to apply anything to areas that are too rough (skin), right? That's the ultimate level ... that's why I use a base.
D
It's true that sometimes things get rough, but we have to maintain that foundation.
It's like having that one bottle at the very least, and then using all these different things and having fun, as kind of easy daily care.
Really fun and that's the important point.
M
Seriously, otherwise I wouldn't do it!
I think special care should be done separately.
There's something about it that happens every day,
In fact, some people feel that mfn alone is not enough.
D
Are you there?
M
Yes, but I think it's true. If you use something sticky,
I don't think it's enough at all. It's so refreshing ...
This one bottle is supposed to absorb moisture well.
It's okay though.
D
Yeah.
M
If that's not enough
Maybe it would be a good idea to paint it over that.
I'm thinking about creating some more applications of this in the future.
d
But skin is definitely the most basic of basics.
Z: “Let me ask you a few questions about that topic.”
D
yes.
Z
"Since we were just talking about usage, I would like to know your impressions after trying it out, Mr. Miura and mfn ."
D
I used it in a very extravagant way ...
It was gone in about a week (lol).
There's a reason for that...
At that time, the timing that I received from Ofune (Bifune) caused me to get a severe sunburn, and it was so painful that it almost felt like I got a slight burn ...
At the time, I didn't have much moisturizer, so I thought I'd give Ofune's (Bishu) product a try, even though it was luxurious. When I applied it to my body, it immediately went away, and the inflammation, pain, and stinging also went away...
It's also very moisturizing, so I thought it would be a luxury, but I tried using it on my whole body, and the symptoms really did subside, which was the thing that surprised me the most.
I applied mfn to my usual lotion and went to sleep, and the next day I noticed the inflammation subsided. It wasn't sticky, it was absorbed smoothly, and even though it had a light texture, it still kept my skin moisturized, so I thought it was amazing...
So I posted it on my Instagram story straight away.
And one more thing, what I thought was great was how easy it was to use!
The shape of that bottle is super convenient and you can dispense it with one hand.
I think it's good for everyday use. I recommend using it every day.
Nowadays, good textures and ingredients are the norm, and there are many different types available, but I was grateful to see packaging that has been designed to be easy to use on a daily basis.
M
Thank you. Who would you recommend mfn to?
D
"I definitely want to recommend it to everyone!
I just felt like it would be easier if I just had this ... "
The texture is just so good that men can use it as well ...
In fact, men have it easier!
It's something that men can also use.
I think a slightly more masculine vibe might actually be a good thing.
D
It's all-in-one and easy to make like that ...
It 's for kids who don't understand the concept of "You can only have one, you know? "
M
In fact, there are a lot of women like that too.
D
It doesn't really have to do with gender, but for example, in the past, in the skin care market, men would want an easy all-in-one product, something that has conditioning in it, and there are people who want something easy and don't want to take such great care, right?
But, even though I don't want to care, that doesn't mean I won't care ...
I think it would be great if one bottle was all you needed, so I highly recommend it for men too. So if I were to recommend something to someone , I would like men to use it too.
M
thank you.
D
Ofune (Bifune) is best known for its makeup for women, but I think this is a product that could catch on with men as well.
Z
Now, on to the next question.
"What do you usually do when you want to save time? Is there anything?"
D
...I'm not really in a hurry with life. But that changed along the way.
Maybe it's changed as I've grown up, but I used to be busy, but I haven't been busy in the last few years ...lol
Even if you feel busy, it's all a matter of your own mindset ...
However, there was one thing that I found, although I'm not sure if it actually saved time .
I always carry a spray bottle with me.
Mist bottles are so convenient. When you get wrinkles, you just spray them with water and they straighten out when you stand up. You can also use a spray bottle to fix bedhead.
Also, when I feel a bit foggy, spraying it with water makes me feel refreshed.
So when I want to care for my clothes or something, I find spray bottles to be extremely useful when I feel like they're dry, so I always carry one with me when I travel.
M
"By the way, what's in that spray bottle?"
D
It's water.
Just water.
If it's just water, it won't bother anyone.
I was worried that a scent that was too strong would be a nuisance to those around me.
As for scent, I think it's something you can enjoy on your own, within your own range, within your own capacity, and it's elegant to smell it, or rather to have someone smell it or feel it, but I don't think it's something that should be forced upon everyone in this space.
Not everyone thinks the same scent smells good.
So I thought it would be a bad idea to let it go ...
So my spray bottle is scentless, just water. Like that.
d
But it's really just a spray bottle.
M
"I was wondering what that "whoosh" thing was just now."
D
It's really convenient when you travel.
Isn't ironing such a hassle? I hate ironing.
I always spray it with a spray bottle before I go out. Before I know it ...
Z
I use it too, but I don't carry it around. I always hang it in my closet ... carrying it around is a bit new.
M
Great for traveling too
Actually, I wanted to put it in the travel section (store).
Z
"Yeah, like the airport ... "
M
I think it's super convenient for traveling. It doesn't have a lid, so ...
Personally, I hate things like leaks ... especially when I go abroad.
z
"By the way, Miura-san, do you like traveling?"
D
Yeah, all I do is travel.
Z
Is there a situation in which you feel most comfortable? Like a comfortable place.
D
I like being on the move.
I don't like staying in the same place, I like things to flow
I think it probably depends on the person, but for me it's the "nature of water." So if it doesn't flow, it will rot.
So rather than saying " I love this place! " , it's more important to be able to go to different places.
So now I've moved to Osaka ...
Up until then I had always lived in Tokyo, so I thought it would be nice to get out and see things from a bird's-eye view. Osaka is much more convenient for traveling, as it's in the center of Japan, so you can go to Tokyo from there and also to Kyushu, so I thought it might be fun to move around quite a bit, and that's what I'm trying now.
"The most comfortable time and situation is when I'm moving. To flow."
M
"I can empathize with that, water certainly does have that feeling ... "
I went to the countryside yesterday too ...
You know, there's water from upstream, right? If you bring that back home,
The moment you draw it, its energy changes and it begins to deteriorate.
The same is true of the fluids inside the human body.
It's the same with blood flow, and you need to make sure that blood is flowing properly ... so the original nature of all liquids is that they flow, so when you moisturize, you need to keep that circulation going.
It might also be about drinking lots of water.
So I'm conscious of letting things flow, and I think I'm also flowing. I feel it and it happens naturally ...
z
"It's true that when water stagnates, things like rivers become rotten."
By the way
"What do you enjoy doing the most right now? That moving, flowing thing you were talking about earlier?" "Anything else?"
D
I've been feeling really strange lately ...
MZ
"be on one's mind~"
D
It's no longer fun.
It's not that it's not fun. I don't know how to put it, but when everything becomes fun, it becomes the standard.
It was like, "Ah, this is it! "
How should I express it?
It's not that something is fun or that this is fun, but rather that everything is fun.
It's like a stamp rally.
Yes, this. Yes, this ... something like that.
With stamp rallies, you don't get excited until you've completed all the stamps .
It's not that it's boring, but ...
I'm happy that they're piling up, but ...
So, of course, it's really fun to meet people and eat meals, but it also feels like a stamp rally .
For example, let's say you get a really good offer, or the fee is really good, or something.
I'm starting to get a sense of, " Yes, yes, this is it. "
Z
Is that because you've grown and gained experience?
D
I think that's possible.
"The first time is exciting, but if you do it a few times, the excitement can start to fade."
"It's like being able to see yourself from a bird's eye view, being able to see the situation."
I'm having fun doing this right now ... everything is fun right now.
"Maybe because it's freedom ... "
"Maybe it's because I'm just doing what I want to do ... "
M
"You don't have to do anything you don't like."
D
But there's almost nothing I don't like about it.
There's no one I don't like ...
How should I put it ...
When a lot of bad things happen, if you look at it from a broader perspective,
That's just what I do.
It feels like it's coming from the outside, doesn't it?
Something unpleasant ...
But in the end, it's only because you have decided that it's something unpleasant that it becomes unpleasant, and there are also people who wouldn't think anything of it if the same thing happened to someone else.
So, in the end, I've come to realize that by `` changing my mindset '' I can transform anything into something good, and it's no longer a matter of whether it's good or bad.
But it just feels like something that happened, so it makes you feel like, " Ah, this is it " ...
MZ
"That's how it is."
D
oh yeah.
Z
"But don't you feel stressed out by that?"
